Sportsmanship Policy

As a Lake Oswego Little League parent, coach, player, or family member, I will:

• Remember that children participate to have fun, learn the game, and develop their skills.
• Promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win.
• Serve as a positive role model and encourage good sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork.
• Teach my child to play by the rules, respect officials, and resolve conflicts in a positive and respectful manner.
• Treat players, coaches, umpires, volunteers, and families with respect regardless of race, creed, color, gender, or ability.
• Support an environment that is safe, encouraging, and positive for all participants.
• Refrain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, or similar products at any game, practice, or League activity.
• Refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.

As a Lake Oswego Little League parent, coach, player, or family member, I will NOT:

• Publicly criticize or ridicule any player, coach, umpire, or volunteer from either team.
• Confront coaches, managers, or league officials about concerns in front of players, spectators, or during a game.
• Use inappropriate, derogatory, or vulgar language at any game, practice, or League event.

By following this Sportsmanship Policy, we help ensure that Lake Oswego Little League remains a positive and supportive experience for all players and families.

Warnings and Ejections

Any parent or spectator engaged in improper conduct at any game or practice will be subject to ejection by the umpires or a member of the Board of Directors. The game may be suspended until or terminated unless the violator ceases his or her conduct or leaves following an ejection.
